4/24 The Big Day

I started off early so that I could pray and have my coffee in my awesome "WARRIOR" mug that a dear friend gave me. I felt peace and ready to go get the party started after my special time on the couch.

Russell was able to come to Texas Oncology with me because I had an appointment with my oncologist before chemo began. This appointment was a biggie for me. I knew she would be going through all my bloodwork and scans that I went through leading up to this day. It absolutely went as well as I hoped. The tumor is slightly larger than they first thought but not by much. So, I went from Stage 1A to Stage 1B. Everything else checked out with flying colors, so that was a relief for Russell and me.

After that appointment and a hug from Russell, I went back to the infusion room to choose my chair. It was 10am, and I sat through lots of medicines getting pumped into my heart until 5:30pm. It was a long day, but a day filled with smiles, texts, family FaceTimes, flowers and meeting new friends. All the infusions went relatively smoothly, but I was tired by the end of it. I'm on my couch the next morning typing this all out right now, and I feeling good today. A great big thank you to all of you who are praying for me through this journey. I feel God's presence, and I am so grateful.

The whole family picked me up when it was all over, and brought me home. They had cleaned, ordered delivery dinner and Camille had written scripture all over the glass surfaces in my bathroom. She is such an amazing young lady, and I love her so much.

Netter, What a beautiful testimony of your faith and walk with Christ that your started the day off talking to Him. I am incredibly thankful that your family is loving you so well and reminding you who loves you most❤️ You are in my prayers!
You are beautiful. I’m praying and I’m thanking God you have Russell and you are such a great team together. Love you, Sister
As I scrolled down your blog looking for the details of your 1st chemo day, then past your WARRIOR mug (which is awesome btw, lol) the next pic took my breath away just bit. Your bright beautiful smile appeared with the sun beaming on your face, just like God sees you every day. So proud of your tremendous beauty and strength sweet Netters and so blessed to call you friend. Love you!!
So thankful the day went well. It brought tears to my eyes to see the scripture on the mirrors. What a great idea from a precious young lady. And what a great reminder of the mighty God we serve. I pray that you will rely on His strength throughout this battle and you will feel His presence every step of the way.
